What We Build

Ferguson Brothers Contracting Ltd. handles residential renovations, custom carpentry, framing, decks, excavation, hardscape, and concrete across the North Shore. You get an owner-run crew backed by trusted trades — and one point of accountability from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.

Our Services

Renovations

Full-home, kitchen, bathroom, and basement renovations. We plan the sequence, run the trades, and keep the job moving so you're not the one chasing it.

Custom Carpentry

Built-ins, millwork, and one-off pieces made to fit the space and built to last.

Structural Framing

Wood and steel-stud framing done square, plumb, and to code — the bones the rest of the build depends on.

Decks & Stairs

Decks, stairs, railings, and exterior structures built for the wet coast and the way you'll actually use them.

Excavation & Site Work

Site prep, grading, and excavation for hardscape and foundation work. Larger standalone excavation we coordinate with trusted trades.

Hardscape & Landscape Construction

Patios, paving stones, retaining structures, and Bella Turf synthetic turf and putting greens.

Concrete Work

Retaining and architectural walls, slabs, paths, and steps — formed and finished to hold up.

Window & Door Rough-Ins

Openings framed and prepped right, so units sit true, seal properly, and don't cause problems down the line.

Finish Carpentry

Trim, doors, casing, and the final details that decide whether a room reads as finished or just close enough.

Small Projects & Repairs

Smaller jobs and repairs, held to the same standard as the big ones.

JobTread Client Portal

Every project runs through JobTread — a dedicated client portal where you can see your budget, schedule, documents, and change orders in one place. No chasing updates by text.

Pre-Construction Services

Before a single board gets cut, there's work worth doing. These services happen at the planning and assessment stage — some we provide directly, others we coordinate with trusted specialists. All of them reduce surprises once construction starts.

iGUIDE 3D Scanning

We scan your existing space using iGUIDE precision technology — producing accurate floor plans, a shareable 3D tour, and measurement data before design or construction begins. Accurate to ±1 cm. Especially useful for renovations where as-built drawings don't exist or can't be trusted.

Materials Testing

Recommended — and often required — before renovating older homes. Testing for asbestos, lead paint, and other hazardous materials must be completed before demo work begins. We coordinate with accredited testing labs and can advise on what to test and when.

Air Quality Testing

Recommended for projects involving mould remediation, older insulation removal, or post-remediation sign-off. We coordinate with qualified industrial hygienists and environmental consultants. Required in some jurisdictions before certain work can proceed.

Do You Do the Work Yourselves, or Use Subcontractors?

On a lot of jobs you end up with a patchwork — a contractor here, a few trades there, and you in the middle holding it together. We work the other way.

Depending on the project, our crew does the work directly or we coordinate trusted trades to do it — and often it's a mix. Either way it's one plan, one schedule, and one point of accountability. We stay flexible — sometimes we're the trade, sometimes we run the trades — but the responsibility never gets handed off to you.

Which Areas Do You Serve?

North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Vancouver, Burnaby, Port Moody, Coquitlam, Squamish, Bowen Island, and Gambier Island.

Common Questions

What kind of projects do you take on?

Residential renovations and new construction across the North Shore — full-home and room renovations, framing, decks, excavation and site work, hardscape, concrete, and finish carpentry. Small jobs and repairs too.

Do you self-perform the work or subcontract it?

Our owner-run crew handles the core build, with trusted trades brought in where a job needs them. Whichever way the work splits, you have one plan and one point of accountability.

Do you handle large excavation jobs?

We do site prep, grading, and excavation tied to hardscape and foundation work in-house. Larger standalone excavation we coordinate with trades we trust.

Do you take on small jobs and repairs?

Yes — and they get the same standard as the larger projects.

How do you price a project?

Two ways, depending on the work: fixed-price for well-defined scopes, cost-plus for renovations and unknowns. See our Pricing / Project Budget Guide for how we decide.
